Continue to assess S.A.D.A. ® long term plan
Educating the young on the dangers of alcohol, tobacco and drug use, addiction and physical and mantel damage caused by such abuse is still one of the best methods for prevention.
For those who have tried or taken alcohol, tobacco or drugs, education is shown to restrict increase use of alcohol, tobacco and drugs and is often effective in preventing use or addiction.
Teaching parents, teachers and other youths and care providers to spot the signs of alcohol, tobacco and drug abuse is one of the techniques suggested by the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) to identify and address experimentation and mild to moderate drug use by teens. Behaviors such as lack of self-control aggressive or inconsiderate behaviors are common among teens experimenting with drugs.
(NIDA) says parental involvement and family bonding are essential to preventing substance abuse among teens and young adults. Parents should supervise and monitor their children and know who their children are spending time with. Setting limits such as curfews, maintaining family rules and discipline and making time to interact with their children and teens, engaging in sports, after school activities and old-fashioned conversations are also effective preventive measures to curtail or avoid abuse.
Inhouse Security Service along with its S.A.D.A. ® vehicle will soon be sponsoring more events in San Luis Obispo County. During these events ISS will hand out pamphlets and talk to the public about the importance of awareness on Alcohol, Tobacco and Drug abuse.
